Access To HE Business

Access to HE course is perfect for individuals wanting to progress and study at University.  You may lack the necessary entry qualifications or feel you need to develop your confidence in study skills.  Our 1 year full time Access to HE Business course will provide you will a nationally recognised qualification.  This course is designed to provide 19+ students key fundamentals in business as well as the opportunity to develop the key study skills required for higher education.

The Access to HE Business course (equivalent to A Level) will provide individuals with knowledge of key business fundamentals, including

  • Accounting and Finance
  • Marketing 
  • Management and Leadership
  • Operations and Planning
  • Human Resources

 
It is supported by local universities, including University Campus Oldham and is delivered by tutors that have substantial industry experience.  In addition, the course features a range of guest industry speakers. The course has been designed to meet the needs of busy adult learners that are looking to get back into education and develop a career in business and will provide the foundation for a business related degree, support in applying for university and to develop the confidences and competences for higher education.

This course provides a clear progression pathway to Higher Education, and many of our learners progress into further study at local and national universities. Qualifications you could go on to study for include:

  • BSc (Hons) in Accounting & Finance

  • FdA Business Management

  • Level 3 – 4 x GCSE grades A-C or level 4-9 ( including English and Maths)

    Explanation of entry requirements

    You will need English and maths GCSEs at a grade C or above or Level 2 functional skills in English and Maths. You may require additional GCSEs if they are required for entry to your chosen university course. For this reason, we suggest that you investigate potential university progression routes to establish specific entry requirements.

    You will attend a formal interview here at Oldham College to discuss your qualification, career aims and aspirations to ensure we recommend the right career path for you.
