What does this qualification cover?

These qualifications are intended for those who want to gain the knowledge and practical skills to progress onto an Electro-technical Apprenticeship Program.

If you have complete the 2365 Level 2 Diploma this is the progression route for you to take to gain further skills and employ-ability for a career in the electrical sector.

This course is mainly assessment based and consists of theory and practical elements that develop your skills to level 3.

Some of the units completed are able to be used against the apprenticeship qualification if you manage to secure employment with an electrical company that is willing to take you on as an apprentice.

 

 

What will i need to complete?

All learners will complete the mandatory units within the qualification learners will need to undertake the following units;

  •  Electrical installations: fault diagnosis and rectification
  •  Electrical Installations: inspection, testing and commissioning
  •  Electrical systems design
  •  Health and safety in building services engineering
  •  Career awareness in building services engineering
  •  Understand the fundamental principles and requirements of environmental technology systems
  •  Principles of electrical science

How will i be assessed?

There are several methods of assessment including:

Practical assessments, Including Inspection and testing.

Theory Assignments and projects.

Online Tests.

Where possible a program of work experience will be offered giving you an insight into this specific industry skills base.

If you are already working for an Electrical company we encourage Employer engagement over the time of your training.

On completion of this course you can progress onto the full time employment as an Electricians mate or an apprenticeship to complete a full NVQ.

Explanation of entry requirements
To access this course you must have achieved 5 GCSE's at grades C and above including Maths and English. Also have completed the City and Guilds 2365 Level 2 Diploma. For adults we require you to have completed the City and Guilds 2365 Level 2 Diploma as this enables you to have covered some of the units that are required in the Level 3 Diploma.

The course is free to 16-18 year olds.
