Unsure students encouraged to join Oldham College on the breakfast sofa.

Students who are having second thoughts about their choice of college or 6th form, have been invited to chat with Oldham College to discuss their options.

The college is laying on an eye-catching open air lounge complete with sofa outside its campus next to the bus stop on Rochdale Road. Students will be able to make themselves comfortable on the sofa while discussing their situation. Healthy Innocent Smoothies and fresh fruit are also on offer to make it a good start to the day.

The breakfast lounge will open its doors for an hour from 7.30am this Friday and again at the same time next Monday to Friday, 26 – 30 September 2016. Further locations and dates will be announced.

Alun Francis, Principal and Chief Executive of Oldham College said. "Every year we are contacted by students who tell us they have made the wrong choice of college or 6th form. This is happening again this year. We want young people to know that we are very happy to talk to them and give them best advice. We are committed to providing a route into employment, apprenticeship or university for all our students with our technical and professional education programmes.

If students cannot join the college on the sofa, they are welcome to call into reception, use the chat facility on the college's website or come to the college's Open Day on Saturday, 1 October 2016, 11.00am to 2.00pm.

Mr Francis concluded "We continue to invest in the very best facilities for our students. This includes our brand new Student Hub. It's a space that is conducive to individual study and group work. The Hub also offers students the opportunity to develop new interests and soft skills which are so important to secure that first position or higher education place after college.
