Early Years staff and learners would like to thank everyone who donated following their recent appeal to help spread some happiness to local children living in poverty or who will be in hospital over the festive season.
This call to action resulted in a fantastic haul of 180 gifts for children from birth to teens being handed in.
Assisted by Rachel James, Deputy Principal, our Early Years learners then spent significant time wrapping and labelling each item and making special gift tags by hand.
Katy Griffiths, Programme Leader, Early Years and Education, said: “The appeal was a huge success and we are overwhelmed with the generosity and dedication that our students have shown through their donations – and by giving up their time to give back to those in need.
“The gifts were then delivered by students to Oldham Royal Hospital Children’s Ward.
“We even had enough to give to children in the A&E department and also sent gifts to the Oldham Health Visiting team.
“A huge ‘well done’ goes to all the team and especially to the students for their hard work, dedication and commitment to helping others. We are proud of them all: they have really made a difference for people who are less fortunate at what can be a difficult time for them.”
