Oldham College hosts a range of employer business breakfasts throughout the year.
Free to attend, these breakfast events provide employers with a range of opportunities, information and advice on topics relating to the future of work.
They also give attendees the chance to network with likeminded individuals and take part in Q&A sessions.
Most recently, we held an event focused on helping employers to prepare their workforces for the digital world.
Attendees discussed their digital skills needs, both now and in the future, and how local businesses can work with Oldham College to meet these gaps.
This week, as part of our celebrations for National Apprenticeship Week (February 5-9) we will be hosting around 140 Skills Week competitions across campus. These will showcase exactly why Oldham College is the best place for learners of all ages to develop the technical skills that employers need and value – and you can follow their progress on our social media channels.
As part of this FE students and apprentices we will compete for the chance to earn a prized place in our WorldSkills (UK) squad.
There will also be Job Shop CV and interview help sessions, an employer talk from Dalkia, and a Careers Fair on Wednesday, February 7, with a range of significant visitors including GMMH NHS, Oldham Council, Guinness Partnership, RRG, Clarity, BT, Wates, Tilbury Douglas, Innovative Technology, the Army and the RAF.
We’re also celebrating the second annual T Level Thursday (February 8) by putting the spotlight on our new courses and some of our many success stories with local firms.
If you would like to join or observe any of the activities this week, please email Lisa Liddy, Director of Apprenticeships and Skills.
