The first two T Level learners to benefit from our new partnership with Muse have enjoyed “eye-opening” experiences.
Katelin and Jamie are both studying a T Level in Design, Surveying and Planning and have spent several months working with the nationwide placemakers and other partner organisations.
This link-up followed Muse being selected as Oldham Council’s place partner to deliver a transformative new neighbourhood and environment in the town centre: including the creation of 2,000 new homes, jobs and opportunities.
Katelin and Jamie’s workplace experience has seen them spending three days a week based with Muse across the North West with the other two days split between Jon Matthews Architects and Arcadis. Both are sitting their T Level exams this summer and will next be looking towards degree apprenticeships or higher education.
“The experience has opened our eyes to placemaking and the wide range of career opportunities there are within the industry,” they say.
“We have been able to get involved in projects across our region. This includes site visits to Blackpool where we have been able to see the delivery of a new place project first hand, project management tasks around the masterplan for St Helens and supporting the transformation of Oldham town centre – our home town.”
