Jack chose to study the Content Creator Apprenticeship for a number of reasons:
“I worked in Marketing prior to the apprenticeship, and wanted to get a qualification under my belt. I’m passionate about working in Marketing, and an apprenticeship seemed the most logical option.
“Oldham College was one of the few colleges near me to offer the Content Creator apprenticeship – and friends who have attended in the past recommended it to me as a good college.”
Day-to-day tasks included managing social media pages, organising events, analysing data and writing reports – through which Jack developed a wide range of knowledge, skills and behaviours (KSBs).
“The KSBs I developed the most are: the importance of clearly articulating requirements and how this can influence priorities for a campaign; ways of engaging with audiences; handling evolving situations, recognising potential issues and responding to audiences through social media; and adapting content to respond to developing circumstances, as these were all key elements of my job role.”
Jack was ‘extremely proud’ to be awarded a Distinction at the end of the course. He says: “I am glad I stayed resilient and completed the apprenticeship, as it has paid off. Receiving a Distinction is one of my best achievements.”
Other highlights of his experience include passing GCSE Maths, and learning from his tutor Lisa – who “really made the course come alive.”
As for the support he received, Jack says: “I was always given the right help and support when needed. This included 1:1 Maths tuition, discussing and arranging reasonable adjustment requirements for the end-point assessment (EPA), and supporting meetings in the workplace.”
The apprenticeship has set Jack up for success, as he has since moved into a Marketing Manager role at Circle Health Group. The role comprises Marketing Manager and Marketing Officer roles across the North West.
“The Content Creator apprenticeship has absolutely prepared me for this role,” he says. “I feel so much more confident and qualified than I did when I started. I strongly recommend anyone debating whether to do this apprenticeship to take the leap!”
