The Level 3 Diploma in Gym Instructing and Personal Training trains learners to a professionally competent level, enabling you to prescribe, plan and deliver safe but effective exercise programmes, and to develop their skills and knowledge to allow the learner to pursue a career in personal training.
This qualification amalgamates Level 2 Fitness Instruction and Level 3 Personal Training into 1 intensive fast track programme. You will learn the level components of how the body works, health and safety in a fitness environment, session planning and practical delivery. You will then learn the level 3 aspect will then give you the knowledge to train clients on a self-employed basis in a gym, and progress onto higher qualifications.

Lifestyle and medical factors that affect wellbeing.
Analysis of client information using the most accepted techniques.
Assessment of a client's current health and fitness status.
Planning and conducting of physical activity sessions, within a variety of environments using multiple resources.
Client consultations using the most accepted methods and providing strategies for successful behaviour change.
Communication skills to effectively build successful relationships with their clients and other health care professionals.
Legal and professional requirements for personal training.
How to set up and manage a personal training business on a self-employed basis if they wish to.

Minimum of 4 GCSEs at grades A-C/4-9 (including maths and English) or the level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification, plus GCSE grade C/4 in both maths and English. Although preferable, no previous work experience within the fitness sector is required.
