We offer a one year, full-time, GCSE science study programme in which you will study GCSE Biology and Chemistry alongside maths and English until you achieve a minimum of grade 4.
We also offer a two year, full-time Level 3 course in Applied Science. This qualification has been designed to give you a broad and effective insight into all areas of science. The course contains modules and subjects which will develop your knowledge and skills, and blends together a mix of theoretical and practical subjects which will equip you to cope with the demands of higher level study and the world of work.
If you need to resit one of the GCSE sciences, you have the opportunity to do this alongside any of the study programmes on offer. Many job roles or degree courses require a minimum of a grade 4 GSCE in a science subject, so we provide the opportunity to either improve your grade or study a science subject for the first time. As these GCSE's are completed in one year, we require all applicants to undertake an assessment before being offered an unconditional place on the course. Classes are offered both day and evening, once per week.
Level 2: The course is externally assessed through examinations.
Level 3: The course is both externally and internally assesses through a series of practical assessments, assignments, report writing and exams.
GCSE Biology, Physics and Chemistry: All assessment is externally set, and includes exams and practical assessments.
Science Study Programme: Successful completion of this course can offer progression to a Level 3 in Applied Science (Applied, Forensic or Medical Science) or on to one of our new and exciting T Level courses.
Applied Science Level 3: On completion of this course you may be able to progress to a wide variety of courses in higher education, such as Biomedical/Medical Sciences, Radiography, Biochemistry, Nursing or Forensic Science.
Alternatively, students can progress into employment (e.g. at technician level) and/or onto an Apprenticeship.
GCSE Biology, Physics and Chemistry: this may support an application to T levels, higher education, employment or an Apprenticeship.
