Various days and times available including mornings, afternoons and evenings. Attendance to your class is mandatory and it is expected that you will arrive on time. You will have regular assessments to check your progress. The assessments will be reviewed and you will receive feedback and guidance to support your progression on the course.
Skill areas covered are reading, writing, speaking and listening, including: identify explicit and implicit information, explain, comment on and analyse a writer's use of language and structure, evaluate a text critically, compare writers' viewpoints and perspectives, descriptive and narrative writing, viewpoint writing, spelling, punctuation and grammar.
How will I be assessed?
You will sit 2 x GCSE exams in May/June
Entry requirements
No prior qualifications are necessary. You will complete an assessment prior to starting the course. The screening assessment is designed to give us an indication of your current literacy and numeracy levels, so that we can identify the best qualification route and class for you. The screening assessment/enrolment process can take up to 1.5 hours.
