During my Early Years Educator Level 3 apprenticeship, I have gained lots of knowledge when it comes to childcare and strengthened skills which will benefit me in my future career. Choosing to do an apprenticeship was the best decision I have ever made.
It felt surreal to achieve a Distinction – I was so pleased with the result, and proud that I accomplished this.
Planning activities for the children when being observed was one of my favourite experiences, as this gave me the chance to showcase the skills and knowledge that I’ve developed to my tutor, manager and employers.
I received so much support from Oldham College, especially from my tutor. If I struggled with anything such as my coursework or activity ideas, I could email, message or phone them for help.
My employer, Giggle and Grow Day Nursery, was also very helpful. Staff were always there to guide me, and would give me ideas on how to plan some activities for when I would be observed by my tutor.
I am enjoying working at Giggle and Grow, as every day is different. The staff are amazing, and all ensure that the children learn and strengthen their skills through the 7 areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) standards.
My advice is to go for it. It was the best choice for me, and I wish I’d done it sooner.
This apprenticeship has shown me that anyone is capable of achieving anything they want to.
