Attendance:
Classes for this course are currently on a Friday morning or Thursday evening. However, this is subject to change. This diploma also has one to one assessment and mandatory observations of practice in the workplace.
Adults working in a teaching assistant role who are looking to progress to a higher level role or who do not yet have the level 3 diploma. This is also suitable for experienced volunteers who support English, Maths and ICT activities with children in the classroom.
Before you start this course you must be employed or be volunteering in the role of a teaching assistant for a minimum of 12 hours per week for the duration of the course. Before you commence this course you must have a letter or email from your employer confirming that they agree to support you, and will give permission for the assessors to observe you in the classroom. There are no specific entry requirements for this course. However, your employer may require you to have a Level 2/Grade 4 or equivalent in Maths and English. To start this course you must be 19 years old on the 1st August in the academic year in which to commence your learning.
You may be eligible to do this course for free, if you do not already hold a level 2 or 3 qualification or if you receive certain state benefits. This course can also be funded through an Advanced Learner Loan or on a full cost basis.
This course may be fully funded depending on your eligibility. The cost is £2225.00. You are also eligible to apply to the Student Loans Company for an Advanced Learner Loan to cover tuition fees if you are not eligible for full funding. You can also apply for our bursary to help towards costs including travel, books and meals.
