January intake-for those who have achieved the L2 Book keeping qualification you may top this up to an AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting from January through to June.
Delivery Method:
This course will be delivered face to face.
In addition to this, you will be required to undertake significant independent study each week in order to ensure you are successful. The required independent study will be 1 hour per 1 of face to face delivery.
AAT is greatly respected in the financial industry, and is designed to give you all the practical skills you need to build a career in finance. AAT qualifications are recognised all over the world, and are generally considered prerequisites for several accountancy positions.
The purpose of the AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting is to offer grounding in the core accounting knowledge and skills needed to progress either to employment or to further study.
What will I study?
You will complete 2 further units in total:
Principles of costing - This unit gives students an introduction to the principles of basic costing and builds a solid foundation in the knowledge and skills required for more complex costing and management accounting tasks. Students will learn the importance of the costing system as a source of information that allows management to plan, make decisions and control costs.
The business environment - This unit provides knowledge and understanding of key business concepts and their practical application in the external and internal environment in which students will work. Students will gain an understanding of the legal system and principles of contract law and an appreciation of the legal implications of setting up a business and the consequences this may have. This unit will also give an understanding of how organisations are structured and where the finance function fits.
How will I be assessed?
All AAT qualification are assessed via externally marked exams that are completed in our AAT exam centre. Within this qualification you will undertake 2 further exams.
Entry requirements
L2 AAT Book keeping. Minimum of 3 GCSEs at grade D/3, with maths GCSE or equivalent at grade C/4. Functional Skills level 1 will be accepted as an alternative to GCSEs. Although preferred, no previous work experience within accountancy is required.
