Qualification Aim

To enable learners to professionally plan and instruct Group Circuit Training sessions that are safe and effective within a fitness environment.

Learners will develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours to become a group exercise instructor, within context, meeting industry requirements set out within the CIMSPA professional standard.

How will I be assessed?

You will complete a learner achievement portfolio, a lesson plan for 1-2-1 and a group session to show you understand how to plan for adolescents activity sessions.
There is no practical assessment.
An anatomy and physiology exam will be completed unless you have done this as a pre-requisite within a Level 2 Gym Qualification.

Entry requirements

Pre requisites

This qualification has been designed to be accessed by those 15 years and older. Learner must be at least 16 years to be certificated.

Ideally learners should have some experience of group exercise through personal practice as participation in group exercise sessions will be mandatory. To achieve this qualification learners will be required to lead a group circuit training session to a small group (minimum of 6 participants), learners therefore will be required to demonstrate effective communication skills.
