Intermediate Apprenticeship Hair Professionals - Barbering/Barber
On the Hair Professionals Barbering Apprenticeship, you will gain the skills and knowledge on how to run a column of clients and consultation techniques. As a Barber, you will carry consultation ,cutting and styling hair, shampooing, cutting facial hair, shaving services
Entry requirements: English and maths GCSE grades 3-9 or A-D, or working towards Functional Skills Level 1.
What will I achieve?
You will attend College 1 day per week and you will spend a minimum of 30 hours in the work place. Your College day will consist of maths and English delivery; theory classes, where you will gain knowledge to carry out services and understand the barbering industry; and demonstration and practice classes, where you will gain hands-on experience practicing your Barbering skills in our purpose-built Barbershop.
Compulsory kit and uniform cost: TBC
Assessment takes place within College, in the workplace and at an End Point Assessment (EPA) centre.
Apprentices are continuously assessed throughout the course, which includes:
Final EPA results are graded either Pass, Merit and Distinction.
Progression for a Barber: Assessor Awards, PTTLS Preparation for Teaching in the Long Life Learning Sector.
Career options:
Starting salary: £10,000 - £16,000
