L3 Advanced Standard in Paralegal
The course is delivered by a qualified industry specialist with up to date knowledge and awareness of current legal practices, who works closely with employers and apprentices to develop and prepare the apprentice for end point assessment.
Typical activities that may be carried out, in this role include:
Managing data/records
Reviewing documents
Drafting and producing legal documents and standard forms
Assisting with the inception, progress and completion of client files
Carrying out research
Handling confidential and sensitive information
Topics/units to be completed include ethics, professionalism and judgements, technical legal practise, managing self and work and working with other people. There are also specialisms to choose, from family law, employment practise, criminal , private client work and litigation.
Entry Requirements
Individual employers will identify any relevant entry requirements in terms of previous qualifications or other criteria. Entry requirements below:
GCSE Maths & English - grade C or above (or equivalent).
2 x A Level (or equivalent) - minimum grade C
This qualifications is delivered on and off the job. Apprentices spend 4 days per week in the workplace and 1 day per week at College.
Bespoke milestone planners detail course content for the duration of the apprenticeship. Apprentices will be holistically assessed in the workplace via a variety of methods in including observation, professional discussion, reflective accounts, product evidence and question and answer. Assessment is on going throughout the duration of the apprenticeship.
At College apprentices will be taught theory which is then tested via externally set exams. A portfolio of work will be created and will form the basis of discussion for end point assessment.
On completion of the level 3 Paralegal apprenticeship progression to further higher courses such as:
Professional Apprenticeship Solicitor Level 7 Includes LLB (Hons) Legal Practice
Higher Education LLB (Hons) or other degree programme
