Our foundation courses are designed to provide students with the skills required to progress onto Level 1 programmes, work or traineeships. We focus on employability skills and provide experience in vocational options such as Sport, Construction, Motor Vehicle, Art, ICT and Health & Social Care to inform our student’s choices about future opportunities. Students will study Maths and English as standard, as well as being able to undertake industry-relevant experiences of work.
It is also possible for students to undertake level 1 courses which will provide a stepping stone to further education at Oldham College. Subject areas include Health & Social Care, Hair & Barbering, Beauty and Business
Skills for Life and Work courses are targeted towards empowering our Special and Educational Needs (SEND) students with independence, purpose and self-sustainability.
Practical workshops prepare students for the world of work by teaching independent living, community inclusion and wellbeing among other subjects. Students may progress onto Level 1 Supported Internships- a meaningful work opportunity split into three rotations, or onto other courses at Oldham College.
