OLDHAM College will be home to a new Innovation Centre funded by Innovate UK through its Further Education Innovation Fund (FEIF).
This initiative seeks to increase the role of FE Colleges in provision of support for business productivity across the Greater Manchester region.
As the lead GM College for this programme, Oldham hosts the central team including the Project Director, Coral Grainger and the Monitoring Manager, Ekambara Rao Ardhimi.
Oldham College is also the base for the Innovators in Residence, Trevor Gregory and Tom Marshall, who will develop a staff CPD programme for all GM Colleges that provides ‘Innovation Insights’ on the Frontier Sectors of the Greater Manchester Industrial Strategy.
This programme began in April and will see all nine GM Colleges establishing an Innovation Centre where new Business Innovation Advisors and Coordinators are based.
Our Business Innovation Advisor working full time in Oldham College is Suzy Chapman, who is supported by Ethan Hackett in the Coordinator role (both pictured, right).
Suzy and Ethan will engage and support local employers to build their innovation journey – and to establish colleges like ours as places where business can connect with each other and access the support they need to increase productivity.
This £25 million programme is funded for one year by Innovate UK and will soon be recruiting to two further Innovator in Residence roles which are focused on Net Zero and the Health Innovation and Life Sciences sectors.
